Ever feel like your efforts are just part of a routine?
Have you felt less enthusiastic throughout the day?
Do you feel tired multiple times during the day?
You may be suffering from a term I call ” Off-purpose-ism”. No really, it’s phenomenon that occurs when you unknowingly deviate away from your main reason for existing. This could be an existence where you complete activities that support your family. Or a main target you are aiming for.
Motivation comes in many different forms. Music. A sermon. A good exercise session. Even a speech. At times I have been motivated and re-energerized by all of these methods. And they are helpful indeed. But the most effective one for me has been revisiting my main purpose: my goals and targets
One of my main purposes professionally is helping as many new dentists as possible. Thus, I focus my activities around that goal. But at times I feel down emotionally or flat out worn down to the bone. This is when I need that “boost”. A boost of mental and physical energy that gets me back on target. How do I help me help myself? – I write down my targets and goals on a piece of paper immediately so I can reflect in that present moment. Whatever comes to mind in my head I take to paper and write it down so my mind can “see” it now instead of being tangled in my head.
Try this jedi-mind trick on yourself and you will see yourself refocused and re-energized immediately afterwards….
